Western Pygmy-blue, Brephidium exile, sighting in NE Florida

We are located in NE Florida region and our butterfly survey team sighted 1 Western Pygmy-blue in our area last year and since it wasn’t sighted here normally, if at all, we thought it was a stray. Now on 6-11-25 we sighted 3 of them perched on Sea Purslane. We know they have colonized St Pete/Tampa, (Western side of Florida), area but wondered if we have the first sighting of them here in NE Florida region of more than one. Anyone have more info on this very tiny butterfly species being here? Thank you!

Wester Pigmy Blues are a rare sighting, especially in Northern Florida! I checked our database and it seems there’s only one record of a stray Wester Pigmy Blues in Fort Matanzas, NE Florida, from 2024 (probably a stray). Here’s their checklist: View Checklist

Yes. That was our sighting from last year.
