Release notes - eButterfly - Version eb_v6.1
Starting in October 2022, we will set a release schedule of one fix version per month, where new features, bugs, tasks, and improvements will be deployed. You will find here a quick list of the most important issues. Feel free to contact us if you need further information about any of them or if you have any suggestions or comments derived from them.
Bug
- Explore data map location filter does not filter province and country - We fixed an important issue where The Location Filter in “Explore” was not working correctly, using a square around the location instead of the actual location polygon.
- Signed-out Home Page - Page not visible - People accessing the platform without an account would be directed directly to the signup page and could not see the singed out page; that is working now.
- Explore (Live) - The map zooms in on Algeria when searching - Fixed a bug where, If the user was searching in “Explore” and then switched to the map, instead of zooming into their search area, it would zoom (with very high zoom level into Algeria). We set the map zoom to a large view of the world now, but an issue with the load heat map or range map data track is being fixed right now.
- Step 3 - “X” should not be case-sensitive. - There was an issue where users deciding to use an “X” instead of a number to represent an indefinite number of butterflies in Step 3 were getting an error if the letter was not capitalized. That has been fixed, and not the “x” can be capitalized or not.
- Step 3 - Complete Checklist Validation Highlight - Many users were stuck by not answering the “Complete Checklist” question on Step 3 when using any type of survey other than “Incidental.” Now, we added a visible red highlight alerting users that they need to answer such question.
- Step 3 Previous button should be green like Step 2 - We received feedback from users that the “Previous” button from step 3 was misleading, being with a different colour "(red). Now, we changed it to green, just like the rest of the buttons. The |“Finish” button is in the bold font to set importance.
- From my observations page, and click on a page link at the bottom goes to a blank result - Fixed a pagination issue on “My Observations.”
- Sign up - Validation more specific - Users signing up were getting an incorrect error message when trying to sign up and committed a mistake on the sign-up form. We fixed that error message to be more informative, suggesting to get in touch with us.
- Checklist duplicated - Some checklists were being duplicated under very specific circumstances. We corrected those checklists and fixed the bug.
- Step 3-try to delete a card in the middle, but it deletes the last card instead - Fixed an issue where If users had many cards on step 3 and wanted to delete a card in the middle someplace and hit the trash bin for delete and say yes, It would delete the last card on the list and not that card.
- Home Page - Hamburger Menu disappearing on Safari - Fixed a bug where users using mobile Safari browsers saw their hamburger menu disappear.
- Step 3 - Date showing “Undefined” - Fixed a display bug where the location text on Steps 2 and 3 were showing as “Undefined” instead of the location info.
- Step 3 (Mobile Version) - Finish button overlaps with the help button - Fixed a display issue where users using mobile browsers with very small screens would see the “Finish” button from Step 3 overlapped with the “Help” widget.
- Identifications - Genus and Family tags missing - Fixed a display bug where records identified to the genus or family level were being assigned a stage of “Identified” instead of “Genus Identified” and “Family identified”
Feature Improvements
- Step 1 (Live) - Change the text for the location pop-up message. - modified the pop-up text appearing on the Step 1 Location textbox to make it more evident to the users that such textbox is a personalized name for their location.
- Add No Image Thumbnail - Substituted the “No Image Found” thumbnail with a stylized default “Sketch Butterfly” thumbnail.
