International species not appearing on lists, neither personal or under Explore for the region as a whole

Hi all!
I know that the ongoing issues with species list accurately are already known and well documented, but I’ve noticed an interesting variation, namely that species from outside North America seem to be treated differently in the system.

Specifically, I’ve been adding checklists from historical trips to various places in Europe, (and subsequently adding new species to my personal life list on here), but it (my list) has only been updating if the new species I’ve added also occurs in some part of North America, and not updating if the species occurs only outside of NA.

I’ve noticed this trend is also true for the species list for the country as a whole, when the country is entered under the Explore tab. For example, I added 12 species from Greece, which I are believe are the first eButterfly checklists from that country. However, if you enter Greece in the location box on the explore page, it only lists 5 species, and only displays 4, all of them species that are found in some part of NA. Under the observations tab however it shows all 12 of the species I entered, but they don’t register as species in the system, either on my personal lists or at the national level under explore. This is true of lists for other European nations as well, and seems to indicate that certain species are not being recognized as species by the list keeping system somehow.

Any attempts to resolve this would of course be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
John.

Hi John,

Apologies for the delayed response. We’ve noted the discrepancies you mentioned, which stem from how we calculate statistics across the site. We’ve already implemented a fix for it, which is awaiting deployment in our next update.

However, this deployment may take a couple of months as our development team is fully focused on getting our mobile app ready as soon as possible!

Thanks for your patience.

Best regards,
Rodrigo

Any update on this situation? It also applies to Explore Data > Map where clicking on the green dots for sites only brings up a blank checklist.

Hi Steven, thanks for your message.

Unfortunately, our developer has dedicated way more time than expected in having our mobile App ready. Which, by the way, we released just a couple of weeks ago, in case you want to give it a try.

Now that the app is out, he is focusing in ironing out Some remaining bugs that have appeared, but we expect to have him working back in our Web platform pretty soon. When he’s back on that, this issue is definitely in his top to do list.

Thanks a lot for your patience

I have been to that movie.

I submitted my first checklist with the app earlier today. I should have some time in the next few weeks to spend considerably more time with it.
