Mobile app problems

I just uninstalled and re-installed the mobile app. I wanted the latest version. Still having a problem with losing my checklist. I open a checklist at the beginning of my hike. today I lost two checklists and gave up on the third one. It can not be an issue of timing out. Today’s first list was open for over 2 hours before it disappeared. Today’s second list disappeared within 15 minutes. These two checklists do not appear under “Not Submitted”. They are nowhere. I also have ebird and merlin apps open on my phone.

That is a very odd situation, indeed. Could you please remind me of the model of your phone and the OS it is working with?

I had a thought. The phone bounces around on my hip as I hike and bird watch and butterfly watch. What if I’m hitting the “CANCEL” checklist button? If I hit “Cancel”, does it come back and ask me “Do I really want to?”? I have not seen the second verify screen.
Also, I minimize all screens if I am not using them (ebird, merlin, ebutterfly). That usually prevents unwanted entries to my checklists.
But it’s a thought.

The same thing has happened to me two or three times. Checklists in progress have just disappeared. I’m using an iPhone XR.

Hey, @madberg ; I am sorry to hear that you’re experiencing this issue. After conducting further research, I found that the iPhone XR, which was released in 2018, has relatively limited memory.

While I can’t confirm, it’s possible that the problem is due to the device running out of memory while using the app. I will forward this note to our developers for further investigation.

Additionally, please try closing any other apps while using ours to see if it helps improve the performance.
