I am having trouble submitting my checklist for the new eButterfly app. Any suggestions? I have been playing with my settings for the app, thinking that could be a problem.
I’m sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with the app. Could you please let me know which settings you changed in the app? Additionally, providing a detailed description of what happens when you try to submit would be very helpful. When does the app stop working?
Having this information will be extremely valuable in ensuring that similar issues don’t occur in the future. However, the quickest way to resolve the issue would be to uninstall and then reinstall the app.
I just want to caution you that if you uninstall the app, the checklists shown in the “Checklists” screen will no longer be available on your device, since this screen is meant to show only the latest checklists submitted from your device. They will still be accessible on the web platform, though.

The app doesn’t freeze. My checklist is just not submitted. It is still sitting in “not submitted”. I have attached screenshots of the checklist in case I didn’t fill it in correctly. I hit the “finish” button and nothing happens. I am sent back to the “checklists” screen. But notice what the “not submitted” checklist looks like!! It is only one screen that doesn’t contain my sightings but does contain lots of “Silvery Blue, Silvery Metalmark, Silvery Checkerspot, Silvery Blue Baron, etc. etc.” Where did all that come from?
I have checked the settings in my phone for the eButterfly app and they match the settings for my eBird app. Notifications are off, permission is allowed for camera, location, photos and videos. Open supporting links is on. That’s the settings I have for the eButterfly app.
I thought about the old uninstall and reinstall trick but I can’t remember what’s on that checklist!!! If I could see it, then I’d be willing to recreate it.
Please let me know what else you need. Thanks for your help. Looking forward to using this app.

I was staring at the first page. “distance traveled” should read 2.35, not 235. I fixed that and get the same results, which is that when I hit “finish” the screen goes back to the Checklists page, with zero submitted and one in Not Submitted.

Upon reviewing the database logs, it appears that your mobile device did not attempt to submit a checklist. This issue reminds me of a bug that affected Android devices when the app was initially launched.
However, this bug has been resolved since then. Can you recall when you first installed the app and whether you have updated it recently?
If the app was installed some time ago and hasn’t been updated, the problem might be that you were using an outdated version. Reinstalling the app may resolve the issue by clearing the faulty checklist and having the latest version.
Once you reinstall the app, please submit a few test checklists (delete them afterwards) to ensure things are working properly and to avoid risking another failed checklist when you are out in the field.

Thanks for fixing me up. I uninstalled and reinstalled and all is well. I submitted and then deleted 2 test checklists. Worked fine!
