Recently two of my Arctic Skipper(ling) photos from checklists submitted two years ago appeared on my Disagreed list. The history says I submitted them as Chequered Skippers, then recently corrected by Naylor and jmgesell as Arctic. I have never heard of Chequered and I’m positive that at the time I identified and submitted them as Arctic. I just searched for Chequered in My Observations and it appears the majority of my Arctic Skipper sightings were changed to Chequered. Was there a taxonomic update made that created an error? Has this happened to anyone else? I will edit all my affected lists.
Thanks for your message. Our taxonomy team has been hard at work, updating our taxonomy backbone to the latest accepted taxonomy. I am not hundred percent sure about the Arctic Skipper, But I will ask them and see what I can find. I will keep you posted.

On a perhaps unrelated note, on one affected checklist with photos, I edited the species but clicking Finish did nothing. I tried refreshing, closing my browser and restarting. Eventually I deleted the checklist and re-entered it.
Did you check that the “is this a complete checklist “ question, was answered? This has happened several times to me, and the problem was that I failed to answer the question.
It was still on YES and I am pretty sure I tried toggling NO/YES to no avail.
Hmm, that is interesting, then.
Hopefully, this will not happen again. But, if it does, before deleting the checklist or any other measures like that, please shoot me a message, so I can look into it further right away.

Arctic Skipper (Carterocephalus palaemon) was split into palaemon, mandan, & skada.
Your original observations of “Arctic” would have been updated as “Chequered”.
Thus the necessary SECOND correction of North American observations
to “Arctic Skipperling” and “Western Arctic Skipper” in eButterfly.
New “common” names:
Arctic Skipper & Western (mandan & skada) in North America.
Arctic Skipperling [eButterfly] Arctic Skipper [iNaturalist].
Chequered Skipper (palaemon) in Eurasia.

What are the ranges of the newly split mandan and skada? Specifically for me, which is in Alaska and which in Wisconsin? Thanks.
